Water activities and family holidays in the Canary Islands

If you are planning a family holiday with great fun activities and beautiful sceneries, nothing can beat the much-loved archipelago of islands called the Canary Islands. From luxury resorts and theme parks to hiking in the wilds and sunbathing on the deserted white sands, the Canary Islands have it all.

Here is why the Canary Islands check all the boxes of a fun family holiday.

The Canary Islands are full of fun activities and let you enjoy life in its purest form. For your convenience, below are the activities that should be on your bucket list when you visit the Canary Islands.

Cable car in Tenerife

Tenerife is a popular island with breathtaking views, stunning sandy beaches, and loads of fun activities for a family holiday. The island is home to Spain's highest peak, Mount Teide which is a whole new experience once you get to the top. The most thrilling way to get to the peak is by cable car which is a whole new experience in itself. Once you reach the top of the volcano, take in all the beauty lying in front of you - breathtaking views of the island and its surroundings.

Santa Barbara Castle, Lanzarote

Lanzarote has preserved the rich medieval history of the Canary Islands which can be exciting to experience. The place is a perfect isle for families with a thing for history and style. You can find many forts in the Canary Islands, however; one that stands out is Castillo de Santa Barbara in Lanzarote. Castillo de Santa Barbara is a small fort with a museum that documents the history of pirates.

The island is stuffed with gorgeous public lidos, stunning mountain viewpoints, rich history, and museums to give you all the good reasons to spend your family holiday there. The island also houses an apartment complex, Camel's Spring Club which is a dream place to stay in for couples, as well as families.

The Canary Islands are packed with fun water activities including snorkeling and scuba diving. If you have never explored the depths of the ocean, trust me you are missing out on life! What lies beneath the stunning sceneries are gorgeous mountain tines, amazing caves, a diverse range of flora and fauna, and beautiful gorges. So, the next time you plan a family trip, make sure it is the Canary Islands!

Surf your heart out!

The island of Lanzarote is the ideal spot for surfing. With a coastline of 200 km and little nooks of the best sandy beaches, Lanzarote is a surfer's paradise. The beaches on the island have a wild landscape covered with fine black volcanic sand that feels more or less like a Caribbean island. If you get lucky enough, you may get approached by some dolphins in a playful mood.

Sunbathing in Costa Teguise

If you are planning to stay at Camel's Spring Club in Costa Teguise, know that it is a cracker of a beach resort with wide sweeping bays and sunbeds to lay down the towel, apply sunscreen, and top up the tan.

Mountain biking with your family

The Canary Islands have a plethora of mountain regions accompanied by breathtaking views and lush green flora. The island offers many trails for mountain biking along the stunning views. With the blue Atlantic ocean resting at the mountains' feet, mountain biking gets more and more surreal.

What makes it more interesting is the variety of challenges for cyclists. The island offers everything from a casual tour along the beachfront to a challenging mountain tour around the Pico del Teide volcano. Moreover, if you want a route for casual sun-kissed rides with no grueling ascents, Costa Teguise is an ideal training track.

Paragliding

The geography of the Canary Islands is perfect for wind sports enthusiasts. The Island has ideal wind conditions for a sport like paragliding. Steep mountains and the proximity to the sea; provide an excellent opportunity to paraglide your way through the natural paradise. Also, if you are new to the sport, you can either take a tandem flight or receive training from expert pilots.

If you are staying at Camel's Spring Club, the staff happily assists you with excursion planning, paragliding training services, and reservations on request.
